United States, Arizona, Yavapai County, Bradshaw Mountains, Groom Creek, Big Chief Mine

The Big Chief Mine is located in Groom Creek. To reach the Big Chief Mine, you must use the Ponderosa Park exit on Highway 89S. The Mine has two vertical shafts and a collapsed horizontal shaft about 400 feet away. There are remains of an old building and dumpsite near by. Unfortunately this mine has collapsed at the bottom of the vertical shafts and is impossible to explore further. However, anyone interested in off-roading should locate the trails to this mine.
